The best automatic vacuum and mop robot hoover (talking to) can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.

Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture leg. They also have carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot mop's power when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save money. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best rated robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum with mop vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time but this was not foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the amount of dirt they are.

If you own a larger home, it is worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a lot furniture. Finally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
