Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The Q5+'s navigation system is also excellent, with few misses along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place, emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone but it will assist you in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot effortlessly.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to do this.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do very well at collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It also can't climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price.
