Upgrades can sometimes increase the stats of a piece and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random enhancements that are applied.

For instance, the premium racial shield Razortail is commonly upgraded for its lightning absorb ability in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradable than the perfect non-upgraded version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens allow you to reroll a purchased item like a weapon, armor or ring. The item is replaced by another of the same kind, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens are an affordable option to upgrade equipment. However, they don't keep the same level as the original item upgrade, and any wasted resources aren't refunded.

Survivors can obtain tokens to reroll in many ways, including the Mistery Box and rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be found in crates and chests, or purchased from the store for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute on an item, such as increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.

Players can roll equipment with three attributes, physical power, spell power, and health. Upgrades to physical power can increase the damage of melee and weapons attack and spell power boost mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional level of health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades the item to higher quality. To produce them, you require a higher-quality token for rerolling. Upgrades require a standard item. Rare upgrades require items that are either exclusive or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.

As opposed to other tokens or markers that are placed on Action spaces the reroll marker stays on the space until the next successful result is rerolled. This allows you to not waste upgrades.

Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase and can be opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened, they will display an explanation and icon for the Appliance or Ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged to purchase a new appliance or ingredient in the restaurant's shop for a small amount of coins.

During the course of a game, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool due to selected Franchise Cards. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop can offer for rerolls and those that are in the non-droppable Pool.

Growthstones

In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones that boost the level of an item upgrading by increasing its stats or attributes. Players can find these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the major towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a cost. In addition, players can get these stones by completing daily contracts.

To upgrade equipment players must first locate the appropriate item and then click on the "level up" button. The menu will appear showing the item's current level and what it will be when being upgraded as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to achieve this. The number of Growth Stones needed to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue), rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor only requires one Growth Stone.

After deciding what to upgrade, players must select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to use and pay the appropriate cost. Once the player has satisfied the requirements, he can select the upgrade option and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. However, there are numerous methods to obtain them, including signing contracts and buying them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or getting them from the reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Additionally players can break down higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.

Leveling

Leveling is a feature that lets players boost the stats of their weapons armor, helms and trinkets. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade materials will be used up and the item upgrading will gain an upgrade to a higher level. This process can be repeated until the maximum level for an item is reached.

Items with upgraded stats will have an icon of blue next to their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, cannot be added to more than one item at a time. Additionally, each upgrade component will require a specific amount of items to be added and a minimum amount for the equipment.

The Upgrade Station features two slots: the left is where players can place a piece of equipment to be upgraded, and the right side shows a glimpse of what the gear will appear like when it reaches its next level. When a player has enough materials, pressing the yellow arrow will initiate the upgrade process.

A piece of gear can be upgraded up to five times. Every time the item upgrade is upgraded, its stats will increase by a small amount. The maximum level for an item is 19.

When an item reaches its maximum level, its upgrades are no longer available for it. When a piece of equipment is upgraded to a certain track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track will be discounted.

Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is equipped. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, acquired through quests or exchanged between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones. However, this will cause the old upgrade to be destroyed.

Requirements

Some items are better off being upgraded less for their increased stats, but for the fact that it allows players to get the most value out of a perfect roll on the item. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example, is highly valued by melee PvP communities and could be worth up to 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.

When you choose an upgrade component that you want to put into an item the game will show an in-game window that lists the required requirements. The game will show the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.

The game will put an item in your inventory after you have completed the prerequisites for an upgrade. The progress bar will update to show how close you are to completing the upgrade. You can also check the status of an upgrade by visiting any upgrader NPC for the item you want to upgrade.
