The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our tests, and it often goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice touch.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.
