Upgrades to gear increase its base stats, and sometimes boosts its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the number of random augmentations used.

The game will display the requirements once you choose the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. These include the type of item (either Weapon or Armor), the level of the item as well as the Upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
