It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units this mop and robot vacuum mop cleaner robot is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job.
